The Cardiology Clinic of the University of Padua is a center of excellence for the diagnosis and therapy of cardiovascular diseases of atherosclerotic, congenital, genetic, degenerative and inflammatory-autoimmune nature. It also houses the specialization school in Cardiovascular Diseases of the University of Padua.

The Cardiology clinic has an endowment of n. 52 ordinary hospital beds and 16 intensive and semi-intensive hospital beds, a hemodynamics laboratory  (Cath Lab) (two operating rooms), an electrophysiology laboratory (one operating room) and two outpatient clinics (Monobloc and Sant'Antonio Hospital). It also provides consultancy services for the other departments and on call duty 24 hours a day.

The main pathologies treated are the following:

- acute coronary syndromes

- ischemic heart disease

- valvulopathies

- heart failure

- heart arrhythmias

- cardiomyopathies

The major interventional procedures carried out are:

- diagnostic hemodynamic studies

- ventricular-coronographic and angiographic investigations

- percutaneous treatment of coronary artery disease

- percutaneous treatment of valvulopathies

- endocavitary and transesophageal electrophysiological studies

- pacemaker and defibrillator implantation

- cardiac re-synchronization interventions

- ablations of supra- and ventricular tachyarrhythmias

The following outpatient specialist services are provided:

- heart failure surgery

- myocardiopathies (arrhythmogenic, hypertrophic, amyloidosis)

- inflammatory diseases of the myocardium and pericardium

- Arrhythmology

- sport cardiology

- clinic pre-operative and post-hospital assessments

- pacemaker controls and implantable defibrillators, both onsite or  through telemedicine

- non-invasive diagnostics (ergometry, myocardial scintigraphy, ECG-Holter)

- imaging investigations (echocardiography, consultancy for cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and coronary CT scan)
